Leticia 'Letty' Garcia, 42, is a nurse by profession and the current Berwyn City Clerk. She ran against Frank Aguilar in the 2022 Democratic primary, losing by about 8 points (45.7% to 54.3%). In 2025, she ran as an independent and was elected City Clerk of Berwyn. She is presenting herself as the grassroots progressive in the three-way 2026 primary, contrasting with both the incumbent Aguilar and well-funded challenger Miranda Hernandez. According to media reports, she has raised less than $10,000 for her campaign. She is also simultaneously on the ballot running for Democratic State Central Committeewoman from the 4th Congressional District against incumbent Elizabeth 'Lisa' Hernandez — the mother of her rival Miranda Hernandez.
